Have a build that I think fixes at least some of the problems with b8. If a few brave soles could take it for a spin and let me know:

http://www.madwolfsw.com/manor_b8a.exe

You may want to install it in a different folder than your normal client, just in case.

I've downloaded the 1.0b8a to my laptop and it has been running idle mostly for over 3 hours with no crash, so it seems to have fixed the crashing stuff...however the clipped systemmessage balloons still there.

At my desktop I still have the 1.0b8, and George and I performed an interesting test, grasping at straws.

A time test for crashes, here is results taken over 3 occurences

Cheiron:
15.47
16.40
17.34

George:
8.43
9.47
~10.50

the time approx may be due to me introducing a loose prop pic for George which made him choke on his coffee and might be a measure bias:

Cheers

Yes the cut in half balloons has been a problem for a long time.... probably only if you make a spot thing or roommsg with multiple instances.
I posted about this way back when a roomscript I made suddently behaved like that... however I have never seen it in the sign on messages before 1.0b8... so that problem seems to go from bad to worse.

This problem seems ... as I recall.... to coincide with an upgrade to graphics layers ... not sure.... but I think the blotches around loose props also popped up then.

I refer to my posting called: "room message oddity" in november.
