As of late not just myself but numerous people have complained about lagging in manor and also when playing a song you have to be careful not to type towards the end of the song otherwise it will give you a major freeze and you basically have to reboot your system.
It has happened many many times is there any way this can be fixed? Having to manually reboot your computer is not very healthy, and as I mentioned Im not the only one and it has been going on way too long.
If you can please HELP.....
Merci Beaucoup.......Flexie |

I'm looking into a possibly related sound issue already.
As to the lagging is it just one Manor site your seeing that on? When there are a lot of animations in the room? If you go to another Manor does it still lag? |

seems to be in most manors and can be in rooms that arent animated...
We thought it might be server related but it is happening in Manors with different servers. |

With regards to the music in manor and the freeze this is not a new problem scots, it has plagued myself and other users for sometime and in many manors. As Flexie described typing at the end of a song is a quick to freeze your whole pc requiring a hard boot. Not so fun when you have work open in other windows and you lose the lot grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. But in general hard booting a pc is very unhealthy.
With regards to the lagging it is affecting different people at different time in different rooms and diiferent manors. it affected me badly the other night so i contacted elite, Alex was able to determine that it was not her server or my ISP but for some reason packets were being lost some where along the line. Again super frustrating turning a 10 minute job in 2 hours again grrrrrrrrr.
The lagging is also causing people to be booted out of manor all together or just freezing. These issues are making it a less than pleasant experience in manor at the moment. grrrrrrr again. My final grrrrrrrrr for the morning. _________________ be well and Play nice

Phaedra it's most likely internet related. A router somewhere being overloaded. Very little anyone can do about that.
The way to check is to run a traceroute from your machine to the server and see where the bottleneck starts. |

I just find that amazing that so many of us are having issues.. It isn't just one person. It can be a group of 4 or 5.
I am used to my own lag on occassions but this is getting ridiculous that so many from all over the place are getting it at the same time.
Since being on Manor I have never seen lag like this. To the stage people at lagging so badly they are kicked. The dial up isn't even this bad. |

hmm, run that traceroute. That sounds like the problem must be pretty close to the server, maybe something going wrong in the data center. |

The Lagg is Growing for a simple reason its not so much manor as it is Server Kids are out more in different places and more are useing the net Many Manor server share Palace to meaning tonns of people in the same place your only seeing a few in your home but there are 100s of others in the same server in other places in most cases 1000s
and with the Songs I have found that if you play same song twice or to close together your froze try spaceing out what you play far apart not playing same one to soon
untill that gets chased down i have tested at a set of 10 and came back to same again wasent far enough apart
but 15 did fine there seems to be an issue of recalling the same song to soon its a sure way to lock and it dosent matter is you use the Mac songlist or the Win songlist or the Combo list if the same is played to close together your locked _________________ Im Not Lost. I know im on Earth

I had a few minutes and used the UNIX traceroute to a 72.36.186.150 IP which I assume is FDF.
I used (is different than Win traceroute)
http://www.traceroute.org/
and three directions, Germany, Berkley and MIT. My observation was at a “xx hop” the probe went into timeout.. Which to me indicates an severe lag issue, since typical timeout is 5 seconds.

LF brings up a good point about sharing hardware with busy Palace sites. Not trying to blow my own horn here, just putting facts on the table. The Palace server is far less efficient than The Manor server, and so yes if your Manor is on the same machine as even moderately busy Palace servers (moderate defined as as few as 10) your site could be adversly affected. |

That is very surprising that co-hosting of a Palace would be noticed on contemporary server side hardware. What with the super fast multi processors and affordable memory these days.
which is loaded to a lag? CPU or MEM _________________ RL..now with 100% less lag! |

I am finding what Long said. that if you play a song twice. it freezes you. i tend to watch or well listen to what song been played. if i sr before the end of the song that i know been played b4 it doesnt interfer or freeze me. but sometimes you cant remember if a song got played and still get the freeze lock down.
my other issue is exception. i cant stay in a locked room. i get red exception . been told i can still talk but i cant see it or anyone else talking.
at Moment i have to stay at the gate and load it just to see other rooms. or i black out badly. (yes emptied cache still no help there ) sometimes i dont see avs. but i see my own and see my props and can do anything i like but i cant see others. eventually sometimes i do but if they change i cant.
another issue i have is hidden rooms or private ones i get exception then too.
when accepting a prop as a present we tend now to put up the ^prop lag sign. so others know its going to take a bit to reply to say ty.
I have tried unloading and reloading manor and no help in that. seems manor doesnt want me in a locked room hahaha..not that an issue as i dont tend to go to locked rooms at all. but have had someone lock it on me without me knowing. wats funny was it never use to. but i say the last 6 months i cant.. and wats even more funny is doesnt matter what computer i am on. mine or this one. still does it. so know its not just my puter doing it to me.
