Shyone has Vista and has Firefox. She has never been able to use the Manor Directory...she gets the message :

"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol(manor) isn't associated with any program."

She gets the same message after doing the beta 1.1 download, so it is Firefox that is the issue?

Has she tried it with IE or other browser? If all browsers give a similar message I'd say the entries in the registry are messed up. If only FireFox gives the message then yes I'd say it's something FireFox doesn't like.

In Vista, Under control panel, there is a option icon called "default Programs"
in this window, the second option is set protocol
Here is where you can set The Manor to open with the directory etc.

also don't forget to set the Manor profile setting to ""Run as administrator""
you can do it 2 ways
1 by a right click and select the option Run as admin.
or
right click and select property's, and browse the tabs, and find at the bottom the check box, run as administrator.

and save

it sounds like Her Manor isn't set to default to a Protocol. this should help the issue.

Fire, the point of this beta is you don't need to do ANY of that stuff anymore, especially the run as administrator.

If the beta doesn't run in normal user mode it's a bug.

When I installed the Manor 1.1b1 beta on vista, My first box came up as the allow the new installed app to run in a trusted mode.

then it opened and i tested and closed it and re opened it ,..... it then needed me to have administrator rights to run it . just after i had set it to administrator.

IT now is running as admin and i have had a crash, In WDD when i went room by room , to check the app out. it seems to be working for now. and some times it opens and will not respond , but i think that is my local machine not the app.

any thoughts?

Be well
