Maybe it's just because I take the opposite view (everything is private unless the user says otherwise), but I find the attitude described in this article repugnant.

Some old schoolmate lured me on facebook some time ago...
after watching what goes on I find it totally worthless... so I deactivated my account... trying to find out how to delete profile totally ... does anybody know how to????
Besides... there has been several things in media here with employers checking facebook or twitter for your page ... and that can be a bad thing in a job interview actually..

Cherion ..
To get rid of your facebook profile, go to your account settings under the accounts top right ..
at bottom of account settings is deactivate account.
that should do it 
let me know if that works correctly
