Ok a couple of us have been talking to ByGeorge and he has this really cool featured called Av Manager. Unfortunately the site has gone down and we can't get it.
So my question to anyone out there, do you have a copy or place we can go to get a copy of this Av Manager? Or do you have something similar?
It is a plug in that you can use to create directories in your Av chest. This would make life so much easier to get dressed for different occasions.
Any help or suggestions please let me know and I will pass on . |

I don't have a copy of the plugin, sorry, but I would be interested in what it does to the props folder. Does it create folders within the props folder? Or does it make several prop folders and change the names? |

ok ByGeorge was saying he can put his avs into categories and then call for them easily. He has categories for sitting, animated, sexy, male and female for examples. He got it from a site that has now disappeared.
Might have to see if he can post in here and explain it better. ByGeorge said it was hard to get going but now it is pure bliss to be able to grab from 100s of avs easily.
I just want something that I can have in my chest that if I want to dance I click on it and there are the dancers, sexy then there they are or for a laugh click. I know in a perfect world.
Thanks guys |

First of all, be careful what you wish for. Longfang's solution is straight forward and simple to install and use.
Secondly, there are two versions of an av manager out there. One is Av Manager 2.4 and the one I am using is AV Manager 0.9.
Thirdly, this manager actually manages the avs. There is a help section that allows you to determine how you wish to use it. You utilize categories to place your avatars and props in some relative order and you name each avatar or prop within that category. It does not replace the prop bag and the manager needs the prop bag to exist. If you remove a prop from the prop bag it will disappear from the manager. The manager allows you to transfer props from one category to another, it will list the avs of each category upon request. You can delete and add without there being a minimum or maximum of avs. It gives you a status report of how many avs and props you have. Scot, as far as I can tell, it does not make separate files in the manor directory or on manor.
Fourthly, it is a real beach..hehe...to install. The main file for the av manager is a plug in. Therefore it is not placed in the cybort located on the manor. It will be externally placed in your manor directory on your computer either in documents and settings; or "the manor directory (I did both). In addition to the main file..I believe it is avm.py; you also need the prefs.py. In addition to these files, references to the manager must be made in the cybort on the manor to attach the manger file to the cybort. It is very complicated and it took me nearly a month to get it working for me.
Lastly, do not go into this thinking that it will be easy to install. And if by chance you do find the data and try to install..BACK UP your current borg on manor. Maybe Lisa or the other creators of this manager can expound on this further. My understanding of the manager is thru using it...not creating it or making it work. Hehehe You see,George, there are times when you should keep that damn trap shut. Ta ta folks |

Ok, to clear all of this up. The av manager ByGeorge is using is the one Foxy made long time ago. You need to install 2 plugins and make some changes to your borg to make it work. This av manager is by no means finished and Foxy is not around to give support.
The av manager I made is not as sophisitcated as Foxy's. It is easier to install and is used by a few people in Manor who can help installing it (mimee). I don't have enough time to make it public and work on it again. Maybe some day I will.
Hope this cleared stuff up.
