Is there a way to delete Manors from your Favourites?
I was looking at mine the other day as I jumped from Manor to another an realised I have quite a few in there that have now vanished. But I got no idea how to delete them from my manor favourites..

In the File menu, select open connection. The list of favorites can be editted there. |

geez, but yes you can drive a nail with a sledgehammer, it's just a little bit of overkill
For future reference if your really having trouble with favorites, their kept in a file named "bookmarks". |

This gives me an opportunity to remind all about the Wiki (named Manual) in link bar.
The methods to use open connection to auto-Lord or enter a Manor with a backdoor is there. Handy if the Manor's global loads mess you up.

Speaking of the Wiki/Manual. If any would like to make contributions to it, let me know via private message.
Eventually I want to tie the forum and Wiki accounts together, but for now I have to add you manually because we had big problems with spammers. |

This captcha patch works well with mediawiki.. may slow the spammer bots to a halt.

Bri et all...
just a little warning.
Some time ago I tried logging directly to a room on MP (using the method described in link above, and we used it on Palace all the time), bypassing gate.
I thought no harm in that, but not only did I get kicked off MP, I got kicked off all elite servers, leaving me hammering at the door like Fred Flintstone shouting: WILLLLMMAAAA!!! ... of course to much fun for Alex who laconically said: well now you know our security works, and had to clear me.
In short: Elite manors firewalls do NOT like it, ...it might work on your server though.
Also, just a reminder: logging directly to a room will bypass any scripts intended that a user needs to load at gate, e.g. a songlist for music playing.
the logging in with password so you wiz up directly: no problem though. _________________ Cheiron

hmmm, she did huh. That's very interesting. Especially considering those URLs are never sent to the server. Rather they are parsed by the client and the relevant information is then encrypted and sent as part of the connection handshake. That's not even touching on the point that the entire Manor data stream is encrypted with a polymorphic encryption algorythm.
So how Elite can even tell your going somewhere other than the gate has me very curious to say the least... |

I dunno Scotsman, I explained it to Alexandra that I used the method to log into a room directly.. and she said that well, their security works.
Ask her, Im all ears about the answer. _________________ Cheiron

I had a talk with Alexandra and we tried it... no kicking me off now when trying.
So I stand corrected, sorry about that, will try in coming days and see if it spooks out.
One thing: maybe back then I did :
manor://mymanor.manorhost.com:135
instead of doing /135
so that it tries another port and firewall will get pissed at that.
but heck if I remember,... I dont thinks so though, oh well.
but the gate script stuff still holds in my posting. _________________ Cheiron

I did mention your caveat indirectly. The globals for many pet scripts are kept at the entry point typically. Of course you can enter anywhere then move to the Manor entry room later to pick them up.
My intent in mentioning the connection syntax was to remind our readers to use and contribute to the Wiki. _________________ RL..now with 100% less lag! |

yep you did Bri, it was just to bring it to attention of eager users to be aware of that.
.. another example would be the much used "sr" script. _________________ Cheiron
