We're all fine, the boat club shown destroyed at the link below was just a few hundred yards from our friends house but she got no damage fortunately.

excuse my ignorance, but isnt it very unusual to have tornadoes that far north in USA? .. just curious.

Yes, it's very unusual for them to actually touch down in this area. Always thought it was because we have so many trees and hills they can't get up enough speed. We get funnel clouds all the time however. (Funnel cloud is called a tornado if it actually touches the ground).
