We have released version 1.0.1 of the Windows client. This is predominantly to fix several issues with Vista compatibility, but it does correct a couple of potential permissions issues on XP as well. |

well.... I can only speak for myself.
I have a preinstalled XP on machine that comes with a recovery disc... when the update function wanted to install SP3... during install it asked for inserting Word disc.... which I don't have .... DUHHHHHHH... and since then I've been stuck with that update wanting me to install it..... I can't cancel it, I can't do anything about it.... maybe someone can, but I've tried everything that I can come up with.
I am so pissed off at Microsoft that I really am at end of line with them,. I'VE HAD ENOUGH ! _________________ Cheiron

welll, you do have a couple of alternatives if your really fed up with Windows.
The Linux desktop has come along nicely and is very usable. Downside is there isn't much in the way of standard applications.
The other would be the Mac OSX, also a Unix variant. |

Yes, I know I have alternatives in Linux and Mac, thanks.
What bugs me majorly is that Microsoft being the puter for the masses is making such stupid things instead of taking care of being for the user and live up to their responsibility as market leaders.
If you read my postings on financial stuff... there goes same picture.... idiots that run business without concern for anything else than profit and more idiots that are supposed to regulate the first idiots without doing their job, which makes them... what? double idiots !
The environment?... same sh*t politically
Or a simple thing as world wide browser compatibility for the internet?... no way... it has been going on for 20 years and the apes making browsers are STILL making stuff that doesn't function together!!!... in a global society that relies more and more on computers !
Work together on a standard for crying out loud !... you already have it in the internet consortium... or whatever it is called, that has been trying for ages to get a grip on standards... jeez
Or what about new MSN... I don't need a bloody writer and database and photoalbum or whatever... my puter is cramped enough already !!... I don't NEED an extra stupid toolbar installed in my browser!!!! I don't need an instant reminder of what my contacts has typed or commercials that keeps pounding me... I just want a SIMPLE reliable instant message thing that is widely spread and everybody can use easily for christ sake, not a whole desktop competing with Google desktop, Windows desktop and whatever they throw at you ... sigh
GRRRRR... it is irrational and plainly dumb all over. <play Frank Zappa: Dumb all over>
Oh well... bad hair day here I guess, but I've had it with a lot of things, and life is too short for all the BS that is thrown around. _________________ Cheiron

Can't do much about the morons in charge of everything, however the browser standards thing is another matter
Have you been using FireFox? Or are you using IE? I ask because there are standards for web pages but MS (IE) don't follow them very well.
FireFox on the other hand does. Safari also does a better job of following standards, and I believe Opera does aswell (not as up on Opera as others, sorry) |
